Experience
- Built a versioned library of reusable GitLab CI/CD components (code and container scanning, secret detection, unit tests, vulnerability reporting, GitOps deploys) and moved 20+ services across dev, staging and production onto it.
- Replaced long-lived pipeline credentials with short-lived JWT auth to OpenBao and SSH deploy keys, so deployments no longer depend on tokens that expire or can leak.
- Restructured GitOps on ArgoCD into one cluster repo plus per-project manifests, with role-based access and canary rollouts for dev and QA teams, and rebuilt the dev, staging and production Kubernetes clusters with Kubespray.
- Wrote tested Ansible roles for PostgreSQL (backups, connection pooling, audit logging, major-version upgrades), Valkey and S3-compatible object storage, with TLS certificates rotated automatically from Vault, and used them to stand up the database and storage for a new internal HR system.
- Cut CI build times by ~40% across multiple projects at CBN and cleaned up the security scanning setup (DefectDojo, SonarQube) so findings stop duplicating and access follows GitLab groups.
